Water Cycle Blog Post – Week 9 Term 3

Hello bloggers,

This term I have been doing how water is in land or how it comes from land. And today we are doing a summary of what we have learned. So there is ace, pro, legend and we can pick from one of those. If you don’t know what ace, pro, legend is I will tell you. Ace is like easy, pro is hard but is so like in the middle and then legend is hard. Sometimes there is even titan which is very hard. I decided to do pro.  So in this blog post I am gonna tell you each part of the water cycle.

The first thing in the water cycle is Evaporation. Evaporation is when the water from the surface turns into water vapor and it absorbs the heat energy from the sun and then it turns into vapour.

The second step is Condensation. Condensation is when the process where water vapour turns into liquid. Moist air comes into contact with a cooler surface.

The third thing is precipitation. Precipitation is Hail, Snow, rain, etc. Any form of liquid or solid water that falls from the atmosphere to the Earth’s surface.

The fourth and last one is collection. Collection is when everything collects and goes into the water.

Now I am gonna talk about what is one way that water enters our atmosphere and how and what are clouds made of. water enters our atmosphere by heat from the Sun causes water to evaporate from oceans, lakes and streams.  And clouds are made out of millions of little droplets or ice crystals and form in the atmosphere.

The second task was where we had to follow a video about  a drawing of a stingray my one is not the best but please don’t judge.

The third task was where we had to make a comic strip about the summaries the text in our own words. And add pictures.

And the fourth task was write a summary about the purakau so that is a myth basically. And I will write the fourth task down below.

Task 1:

Task 2:

Task 3:

Task 4:

There was a boy who was telling a story about a stingray and it was called Whaitere. Whaitere was a stingray who lost her parents to the people fish. And then Whaitere became the guardian of the sea. Whaitere got magical powers from her Earth mother. And whaitere is teaching the people to respect whaitere home.

Reading Term 2 – Week 4

Hello bloggers.

This week we have been working on our reading tasks. We could choose from sparks, ace, pro, legend and titan. I chose pro because legend and pro are basically the same. But also because I think it is up to my standard. We were looking at a topic about hanging. Hanging is a cooking method that maori people use. In this blog post I am gonna tell you all the tasks we have done.

The first task I have done is the questions about hangi. There were 7 different questions we had to answer them. And there was a article that we had to answer the questions from.

For my second task there was a vocabulary wordwall and you had to put them in the right box and it would time you. It was pretty easy.

And for third task we  had to find five other cooking food methods. Then we had to find the pictures and the name of the cooking method.

5 facts about hangi:

  1. When you cook hangi it involves cooking food in a underground pit. often lined up with hot rocks.
  2. Hangi is often persevered large gatherings or celebrations.
  3. The underground cooking method with the smoky flavours of the environment.
  4. Hangi can be cooked with variety meats.
  5. Hangi is more than a cooking method it represents community, food, and the connection to the land.

Text Tiles – Word art

Hello bloggers

Today for textiles we had a choice of what to do. There was a task board and there was a lot of things we could choose. I chose a word art and I did one that was related to textiles.

The app was called Word art and was really cool to do.  We had to choose words and there were fonts you could choose  and colours we could choose and shapes.

My thoughts on this it was really fun to play with and I loved the colours I chose and there were a lot of fonts to choose and I mean a lot and I didn’t know how they looked like so I just chose random ones and it was so much fun to do. I would recommend to try this app and I would try this app again.

Anyways that is all thank you for reading my blog post and I know it is not that much.

Science – Week 2 Invention

Hello bloggers,

This week we were looking at our wacky inventions. “Wacky Inventions.” some inventions were wackier than other people. On Wednesday we answered the questions and We were reading the article about wack inventions. There article was about all the inventions and I will list them. Tomatan, Family bicycle, Greenhouse helmet, The robot that learns. These were all the inventions that were made some in the past and one of them were made in 2023.

Tomatan was made in 2015 and it sits on your shoulder and feed feeds you tomato when you excersise .

Family bicycle was made in 1939. It’s for 4 person biycycle.

The greenhouse helmet was made in 1985 and if you wear it and it has plants and your plants get sunshined.

And for the robot that was made in 2023 it can follow instructions it can learn and speak like a human.

My invention name was 6 arm helper. And it can do all your work and it has 6 arms. And when I mean it can do all your work it can do all your work!

I chose to do this invention because i feel like I need this invention in real life because I am so lazy. All though I am not that lazy but when I want to relax I just wish I had this invention.

That is all thank you for reading BYEEE!!

This is my invention:

Paper Plane Experiment

Hello bloggers,

Last term we did a experiment on paper and we had to watch a video and make the paper plane. Then we had to make ideas on a paper about tricks and how we can get out paper planes to do more tricks. The our teacher told us what to do she said that we had to make 3 paper planes but only one person could throw the paper and we had to do them in a group. My group was in a three and we discussed which one we did. The options were Distance, Glide, Tricks, People. We did the tricks because it was the easy one. We made three paper plane since there was three people. We had to see which one did the most tricks and the most one wins.

The final we had to is make the paper plane and see which one did the most tricks. We did these like on different days so I know it is a little bit confusing.

These is how we did our experiment we had to get in a group and then we had to write ideas on a paper to see how we can make our paper plane more tricks. Then we had to go to the teacher and she called us in a group and she explained what to do. After the next science period we tested our paper planes and we got ready to throw it.

this is how we made our paper plane and we had to find a YouTube tutorial and me and my group had to make different ones and then we named it and we did try it out a for like a few minutes.

Anyways thank you so much for reading I know it was a lot of time doing this work and please do read because I do spend a lot of time typing this and (my hands are in pain)

BYEEEE GUYSSS!!!!

ZMR Science: Paper Plane Challenge

Hello bloggers,

Aim –  What are we to find out?  The aim of this blog is to find out which paper plane is the best.

Hypothesis –  What do you think the answer will be? I think the Air plane one will looked good because it looks easy but also nice.

Method – outline the steps you will take to make your paper plane.

VIDEO:

Instructions:

  1. Fold the piece of paper in half
  2. Fold the top piece of paper
  3.  Drag the top piece of paper and drag it down
  4. Fold the top pieces of paper again
  5.  You will get the triangle at the bottom and drag that up
  6. then you get the paper and fold it outwards
  7.  Then get the top of the paper and fold it half on both sides

My Maths Journal

Hi

Today for Maths we are doing a blog about if it is appropriate to round numbers and we are reflecting on these questions. And I think only sometimes we can only round numbers. First let me tell you what Maths No Problem is. we have been learning about rounding numbers and there are a lot of pages we work on and it is way easier on the book then on your exercise book and it is bigger. There were 3 questions we had to answer.

  • Q (1) The first one was “142 children attending a tournament, rounded to the nearest 100”. If I had to round this it would be 140 because 42 is closer to 40.
  • Q (1) The second question was “a population of 2,387,562 people, rounded to the nearest 100.” I would round this to 2,000,000 because the 3 is lower and it is not  above 5.
  • Q (1) And the last question is “A salary of $34,321, rounded to the nearest 10, 000. I would want my original salary but if I had to it would be $30,000 cause 3 is lower than five so it would be $30,000. That is all the questions.

Yes I can read and write to ten million✅

I am trying to get better with the place value of a digit number😐

Yes I can order numbers up to 10 million✅

I can round numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1000, 10,000, 100,000 and 1,000,000✅

Scientific method lesson

Hi guys,

Today for Science we did “How to think like a Scientist.” And what to do when it comes to think like a Scientist. These are the things when you think like a scientist or try to find clues. First is your observation and take notes and record the things you have found. After you ask yourself a question and what you want to learn. Then you want to form a hypothesis to explain what you have observed. Then you make a predection how you think it is gonna go. Then you find the data and then you draw a conclusion and finally solve your observation.

We then had some tasks to do one of them was to scientific method worksheet and we had to find all the correct answers to what Aisha observation was. The second task was to was a scientific method worksheet and basically we had to find all the words that were related to science obviously.

That is all for my blog post all the pictures are down so if you scroll up you will see my work.

Meanings of these words:

Question – What you want to learn

Hypothesis – What you think it is

Experiment –  Test your Hypothesis

Results –  How did it turn out?

Conclusion – Was your Hypothesis right

Discussion – Why?
