What I have learned about Forensics!

Hey bloggers,

This whole term me and my class have been learning about FORENSICS! And in this blog I am going to tell you what I have learn’t about Forensics. But first I am gonna tell you what forensics is.

WHAT IS FORENSICS:

Forensics is basically using DNA to solve a crime or evidence to solve a crime. They also use blood splatter, fingerprints, footprints, evidence that connect with each other, etc.

What we learned about Forensics:

Firstly I am going to tell you how forensics scientist use patterns to find the truth. Forensics scientist use the patterns to find the truth because they need to find the evidence and they also need to collect the data to find the person who did the crime or kidnapped somebody etc. They can do this by finding the fingerprints or you can figure out the small things like if somebody broke into somebody’s house and there was an object that wasn’t in the right spot you can use that object for the fingerprints.

Compare two types of evidence.

I am going to compare fingerprints and blood splatter and why are fingerprints are more individual. Fingerprints are more individual because its your whole fingerprint but blood splatter are can be splatted every where it doesn’t stay as a group, only sometimes.

Describe a fictional story crime scene.

One rainy night Maria and Krystal had a sleepover at Maria’s house. They were having lots of fun but then they were getting bored at one stage of the night. So then krystal said to Maria. Let’s go on a walk.” Maria answered back saying “But it is raining.” “So, what is the rain gonna do kill us.” She said sarcastically. “No I mean, Its night and its also it is very dangerous.” “PLEASEEEEEE!!!” OKKKKKKAYYYYY FINEEEE!! Just be quiet my Mum is sleeping.” Okay lets go now.” She said calmly. They wore warm clothing and went for the walk. After they went to the walk something bad  happened. “Krystal look behind you.” She said trembling.” Krystal looked behind her and screamed. “AHHHHHHHHHH!” She got killed that night. Maria also looked behind her. AHHHHHH!!! SCREAMS as loud as possible. That night a bloodstain Pattern analyst went to see the blood stain and also to search for who obviously did it. As they were using the blood for DNA, they notice that a piece of hair was laying on both of their shirts. The police didn’t even care about the blood they only cared about the hair and knew that that hair would collect a lot of evidence as they were putting the hair inside the box they saw some footsteps. They used the footprints too to see who the suspect is. After that they took the evidence to the lab and did their magic and after took the evidence to the police station and had a line of suspect. After analysing they knew who it was. “MARK IT WAS YOU WHO DID IT! POLICE TAKE HIM!” And finally the killer was sentenced to jail for 8 years.

Explaining the importance of not contaminating a crime scene.

The importance of not contaminating a crime scene because it will collect data and also it will collect evidence too. But if somebody comes and breaks in your house and they eat something with your spoon (I obviously know a robber doesn’t do that) the spoon has the saliva on it and you can use it for the DNA.

The type of Forensic Scientist I would be and why

I would be a forensic chemist and the reason why is because there is nothing gross involved or maybe there is and I just don’t know. The work is also meaningful and challenging and also the average salary is $104,358 + bonuses. And that is the type of forensic scientist I would be.

Parts of Microscope – Week 8 Term 4

Hello bloggers,

Today for science we looked at parts of crystals. You may be like how would you do that we got a MICROSCOPE! So today in this blog I will tell you the process of what we did.

First our teacher told us how to use a microscope and demonstrated to us. Then he told us to grab a microscope and we had to work in buddies. Then we all got a microscope and a light. Me and my buddy got like random stuff we got some crystals, paper and the paper had some particles in it, we also got something that writing on it and it looked so cool.

I think it was my favourite thing that we did in science. It is also very easy to use but not as easy but the only words that I know is stage and the head. But I am only in year 7 so I have another year.

Now I am put a picture on this blog and its gonna tell you all about the different parts of the microscope. I actually have never tried a microscope and this is my first time and it’s amazing.

Hello bloggers,

Today I am explain the purpose of game in drama. The game that I am gonna talk to you about is Copy circle. I am gonna explain to you The purpose,  How to play it, and why we play games in drama

Explain the PURPOSE of the aspect in this context

The purpose of this game is to see if people pay attention and to listen and read the body language. It is also because if people can do the move and has movement.

HOW to play ‘Copy Circle’

There is a group of people and they are in a circle and the person that starts has to do a move and everybody has to do that move and then you go all around the circle and do the same move as that person. (I don’t know if that make sense)

Why do we play games in drama?

The reason we play game sin drama is because we need movement and there is different types of game that is good for drama. Another reason is because what if we need to memorise our script or lines. AND IT’S ALSO FUNNNNN.

Making Salt Crystals

Hello bloggers,

Today me and my classmates are making salt crystals. Salt crystals are made from solid chloride. If the form of salt is no longer to be dissolved in a solution typically through evaporation.

Now I am gonna tell you how we made it. First our teacher told us the instructions.

  1.  The instructions were we had to get a tube and a paper clip and a string.
  2. We had to get the string and tie it on the paper clip.
  3. Then once we have done that we had to add hot boiling water in the tube and then food colouring. We had to wear safety glasses. The colours were blue and red. And the we had to mix it together.
  4. Then after we had to add the string attached to the paper clip on top. Our one made a dark purple.

I am gonna update you guys soon

BYE!!

This a few days later on 26 November 2025.  And we are going to see if our salt crystals worked. The up photo is our before photo. and the below one is our after photo.

And it did indeed worked. On the top of the tube you can see the salt crystals and like I said the colour is purple. Now I am gonna pour out the liquid and see if there is some under the liquid. ( I know there is a lot of photos and stuff).

This the photo without the liquid in it. And I don’t know if you can see it in the photo but there is some salt inside the bottom a little bit but there is no salt crystals.

This was a success and I would do it again if i could. And it is also very easy to make at home.

Thanks for reading my description Bye!

Water Cycle Blog Post – Week 9 Term 3

Hello bloggers,

This term I have been doing how water is in land or how it comes from land. And today we are doing a summary of what we have learned. So there is ace, pro, legend and we can pick from one of those. If you don’t know what ace, pro, legend is I will tell you. Ace is like easy, pro is hard but is so like in the middle and then legend is hard. Sometimes there is even titan which is very hard. I decided to do pro.  So in this blog post I am gonna tell you each part of the water cycle.

The first thing in the water cycle is Evaporation. Evaporation is when the water from the surface turns into water vapor and it absorbs the heat energy from the sun and then it turns into vapour.

The second step is Condensation. Condensation is when the process where water vapour turns into liquid. Moist air comes into contact with a cooler surface.

The third thing is precipitation. Precipitation is Hail, Snow, rain, etc. Any form of liquid or solid water that falls from the atmosphere to the Earth’s surface.

The fourth and last one is collection. Collection is when everything collects and goes into the water.

Now I am gonna talk about what is one way that water enters our atmosphere and how and what are clouds made of. water enters our atmosphere by heat from the Sun causes water to evaporate from oceans, lakes and streams.  And clouds are made out of millions of little droplets or ice crystals and form in the atmosphere.

Byeee thank you for reading!

Task 2:

Task 3:

Task 4:

There was a boy who was telling a story about a stingray and it was called Whaitere. Whaitere was a stingray who lost her parents to the people fish. And then Whaitere became the guardian of the sea. Whaitere got magical powers from her Earth mother. And whaitere is teaching the people to respect whaitere home.

Reading Term 2 – Week 4

Hello bloggers.

This week we have been working on our reading tasks. We could choose from sparks, ace, pro, legend and titan. I chose pro because legend and pro are basically the same. But also because I think it is up to my standard. We were looking at a topic about hanging. Hanging is a cooking method that maori people use. In this blog post I am gonna tell you all the tasks we have done.

The first task I have done is the questions about hangi. There were 7 different questions we had to answer them. And there was a article that we had to answer the questions from.

For my second task there was a vocabulary wordwall and you had to put them in the right box and it would time you. It was pretty easy.

And for third task we  had to find five other cooking food methods. Then we had to find the pictures and the name of the cooking method.

5 facts about hangi:

  1. When you cook hangi it involves cooking food in a underground pit. often lined up with hot rocks.
  2. Hangi is often persevered large gatherings or celebrations.
  3. The underground cooking method with the smoky flavours of the environment.
  4. Hangi can be cooked with variety meats.
  5. Hangi is more than a cooking method it represents community, food, and the connection to the land.

My DLO (Digital learning object):

That is all thank you for reading my blog post!
